The short version
- We use Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you reject them, or ignore the banner, no analytics or tracking runs.
- Fonts, images and video are served from this site, so simply visiting doesn't send your data to Google, Meta or any other third party.
- We only get personal data when you book or request a package consultation on this site, contact us, or appear in our photos or video.

What we collect and why
When you visit this website
Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure website. These logs are kept only for as long as Hostinger needs them to run and secure the service, and are then deleted.
When you book a session
When you book on this site, you give your name, email, mobile number, any notes about your session, and your chosen room, producer and time. We send these to Square, which runs our diary and takes your deposit. Your card details are entered into Square's secure payment form and go straight to Square: they never pass through or stay on our website, and we never see your full card number. Square may ask your bank to confirm the payment (3-D Secure). We use your booking details to arrange and deliver your session, send confirmations and reminders, and keep financial records. Lawful basis: to perform our contract with you, and our legal obligations for accounting and tax records. We keep booking and financial records for 6 years, as HMRC requires. Square's own privacy notice applies to data it holds: squareup.com/gb/en/legal/general/privacy.
When you request a package consultation
If you request a consultation for a package, we receive your name, email, phone number or Instagram handle (whichever you give), how you'd like us to contact you and anything you tell us about your release. It's sent to our bookings email so we can get back to you. No payment is taken at this stage. Lawful basis: steps before entering into a contract. We keep these requests for 12 months after our last contact.
When you contact us
If you email us or message us on Instagram, we use your name, contact details and message to reply and to arrange your project. Lawful basis: steps before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interests in answering enquiries. We keep enquiries for 12 months after our last contact. Messages sent on Instagram are also subject to Meta's privacy policy.
Photos and video of sessions and events
We sometimes feature photos and video from sessions and events, including our producers and guests at live sessions. We only publish images of people who have agreed to it. Lawful basis: consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we'll remove the image from this website and our channels.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run the studio: our website host (Hostinger, which also handles our email), Square (bookings and payments), Google (website analytics, only if you accept cookies) and Meta (if you message us on Instagram). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: access the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email studio88mcr@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and analytics
If you press Accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see how people find and use the site: the pages you view, roughly where you are (town or region), your device and browser, the website or search that sent you, and whether you pressed a Book, email or Instagram link. We use this to improve the site and see how many bookings start from it. Lawful basis: your consent. Google provides this service to us and may process the data outside the UK, under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies set only if you accept:
- _ga: tells visits apart. Kept for 2 years.
- _ga_<ID>: keeps track of your current visit. Kept for 2 years.
We also remember your cookie choice in your browser (local storage, no cookie), so the banner doesn't ask again on every page. This is necessary for the banner to work. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent we delete the analytics cookies. When you follow a link to Square or Instagram, those sites may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Changes
We'll update this notice if how we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
